Jiang Zhi graduated from China Academy of Art in 1995. His works place an intimate focus on private narratives as well as exploring interrelationships within contemporary Chinese society. Fiction and poetry have also been an important part of his artistic output. Working with a wide range of media including photography, painting, video and installation, Jiang engages with contemporary, social and cultural issues. He consciously positions himself at the intersection of poetics and sociology, weaving mundane social and personal experiences into his works.
Jiang’s solo exhibitions took place at Aranya Art Center (Beidaihe, 2024), Pingshan Art Museum (Shenzhen, 2023), OCAT (Shenzhen, 2016) and Times Museum (Guangdong, 2012). Jiang’s works have been exhibited at M+ Facade (Hong Kong, 2023), He Art Museum (Foshan, 2023), Blindspot Gallery (Hong Kong, 2023), Ming Yuan Art Museum (Shanghai, 2023), Duolun Museum of Modern Art (Shanghai, 2021), Chongqing Contemporary Art Museum (Chongqing, 2021), Wuhan Art Museum (Wuhan, 2021), Pearl Art Museum (Shanghai, 2020), HOW Art Museum (Shanghai, 2020), Minsheng Art Museum (Beijing, 2020), Solomon R.
