Wang graduated from the Oil Painting department of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1993. His work is collected by the International Center of Photography (USA), Philadelphia Museum of Art (USA), San Francisco Museum of Art (USA), Victoria and Albert Museum (UK), Maison Européenne de la Photographie (France), MUMOK (Austria), National Gallery of Victoria (Australia), Mori Art Museum (Japan), Daegu Art Museum (Korea), and Central Academy of Fine Arts (China), among others.
Wang currently lives and works in Beijing, China.
