He Zike

b. 1990, Guiyang, China

He Zike works across video, writing, performance, installation, prints, and computer programs to explore how an individual perceivesoneself and time under the flow of information, media, and technology milieu. Drawn from her lived experiences in her hometown of Guiyang, China’s data capital, He creates fictional narratives that explore the impacts of the digital realm on contemporary life, exploring the disorders that lie beneath these ostensibly well-structured systems. She works with researchers to develop artistic projects revolving around databases, machine learning, electronics, deep time, archives, memories, and consciousness. 

He Zike is the finalist of the 5th VH Award of Hyundai Motor Group, and was selected to be in the residency program of Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council in 2023. He received her Masters degree from the Department of Future Media Art in China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2018, Her works were recently exhibited iMuseum of Contemporary.

He currently lives and works in Beijing.
