Description
This exhibition catalogue features Hong Kong artist anothermountainman’s major solo exhibition “Lanwei” at Blindspot Gallery, showing over 40 select works. Taken over the course of six years (2006-2012), the project started in major Mainland Chinese cities but soon extended to other cities in Asia including Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Singapore. The large format photographs depict scenes of hundreds of construction projects left aborted due to the bursting of economic bubbles in the previous decade. The images do not reflect solely the issues found in the economic downturns. They also capture the failures in other aspects of people’s lives.
