In line with the curatorial concept devised by William A. Ewing and Holly Roussell Perret-Gentil, eighteen selected positions from the photo exhibition “Works in Progress” are now travelling from Essen to Mallorca. The show furnishes an extensive overview of the current Chinese photographic scene. On view are brand-new works by Chinese photographers and artists, some of which are being simultaneously exhibited in museums and art galleries across China. This distinguishes the show from all previous surveys of contemporary Chinese photography.
