Société Générale announced the winners for its inaugural Chinese Art Awards 2010 on December 9, at a press conference held at 798 Originality Square in Beijing.
Jiang Pengyi won the Jury Grand Prize at the first Société Générale Chinese Art Awards 2010 with his Unregistered City, No.2. In his iconic series Unregistered City, Jiang reduces skyscrapers to miniature sizes and juxtaposed them at truncated interiors and corners. The series reflects the illusive nature of the city and the world, and also the artist’s state of mind in a city with constant development and demolition.
