Leung Chi Wo + Sara Wong

Leung Chi Wo and Sara Wong’s collaboration started in 1992. Their most recent solo exhibition was presented at SCAD Museum of Art (Savannah, 2023) and Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale (Tsunan, 2018). The duo’s works have also been exhibited at Aranya Art Center (Beidaihe, 2023), Asia Cultural Center (Gwangju, 2023), Ming Contemporary Art Museum (Shanghai, 2020), Aichi Triennale (Nagoya, 2019), Echigo-Tsumari (2018), Tai Kwun Contemporary (Hong Kong, 2018), Singapore Art Museum (Singapore, 2018), Shanghai Center of Photography (2015), Hong Kong Heritage Museum (2010), Museu da Imagem e do Som (São Paulo, 2008), Queens Museum (New York, 2000), PS1 Contemporary Art Center (New York, 2000), and Shanghai Biennale (Shanghai, 2000), among others. Leung and Wong were among the four artists who represented Hong Kong in its first participation in the Venice Biennale in 2001. They were artists-in-residence at the Delfina Foundation, London (2021) and the Emily Harvey Foundation, Venice (2023). 

Leung’s solo exhibitions were presented at Blindspot Gallery (Hong Kong, 2023), Eaton (Hong Kong, 2020), The Mills Gallery (Hong Kong, 2015), OCT Contemporary Art Terminal (Shenzhen, 2015), and the International Studio & Curatorial Program (New York, 2013), among others. His works have also been exhibited at Para Site (Hong Kong, 2023), Hong Kong Museum of Art (Hong Kong, 2023), M+ (Hong Kong, 2021), MOMENTUM (Berlin, 2020), Times Art Center (Berlin, 2018), Thailand Biennale (Krabi, 2018), Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture (Shenzhen, 2017), NRW Forum in Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf, 2015), Asia Triennial (Manchester, 2014), and Tate Modern (London, 2010), among others. 

Wong participated in artist-in-residence programs at MoMA PS1 (New York), Bronx Museum of the Arts (New York), and the Ecole Cantonale d’Art du Valais (Sierre). Wong was the recipient of the Most Promising Artist Award as part of the Philippe Charriol Foundation Art Competition in Hong Kong and the Ramon Woon Creative Prize from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Wong is a practicing landscape architect.

Leung and Wong are the co-founders of Para Site, one of Hong Kong’s longest standing independent art institutions founded in 1996. They currently live and work in Hong Kong.
