In the study of old family albums that spanned the last 50 years, Lau Wai found visual patterns and thematic tropes that signified to her family memories and historical periods. By selecting particular images, cropping out fragments and enlarging them to an almost unrecognisable blur, Lau conveyed the pathos of temporal distance.
