Lau Wai graduated from Goldsmiths College in UK with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2007. In 2014, Lau was invited by Lianzhou International Photo Festival to hold her first solo exhibition in the international solo section of “Staging Encounters: 10 Years of Contemporary Photography in China”. Her works have been exhibited in various group exhibitions including “Les Photaumnales – Love Hong Kong: La photographie hongkongaise (1950-2015)” (Le Quadrilatère, France, 2016); “Adrift” (OCAT Shenzhen, China, 2016); “Imagine There’s No Country, Above Us Only Our Cities” (Para Site, Hong Kong, 2015); and photography festivals including “Denmark Photo Biennale: Cities and Memory” (Brandts Museum, Denmark, 2016); “Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale: Three Shadows Photography Award Exhibition” (Asia Photography And Image Center, Japan, 2015); “The 6th Dali International Photography Festival” (Dali, China, 2015). In 2015, she was a finalist of The 7th Three Shadows Photography Award and Xitek New Photo Award.
Lau currently lives and works in Hong Kong.
