Hao Jingban’s video work Opus One (2020) will be on view in “Echoes: Videos from the Han Nefkens Foundation Donation” at Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, Spain.
“These pieces rethink the documentary dimension of video and open the moving image up to more fragmentary and associative forms of construction. Texture, sound and materiality are central to the experience, shifting the idea of a closed narrative towards a more open and permeable form of writing. Video is configured as a place for critical listening, relating and reflecting, where the poetic and documentary dimensions become inextricably entangled.” – MACBA
