So Wing Po’s work Body Part: Park (2024) on view at Shanghai Jing’An International Sculpture Project (2024 JISP), curated by UCCA Lab.

Glowing tubes weave through stone and clay walls, shrubs, tree trunks, and meadows, linking different parts of the space together. The ground connects with the underground, while visible and hidden elements are interconnected. Inside the tubes, red lights flow back and forth like life fuel circulating continuously within a body. The surface of the tubes is covered with seeds of the plant “tree of damocles.” These round seeds with thin papery wings can glide through the air with the help of wind and airflow, drifting away from the parent plant and slowly falling to the ground to sprout and grow. The space, much like a body and time, has a flow and breath of life. Visitors within this space experience themselves as nutrients wandering through this living environment.
