Hao Jingban’s latest video installation I Witness (2025) will premiere in “MAM Collection 021: Hao Jingban”, opening to the public from 3 December 2025 to 29 March 2026 at Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, Japan.
Hao is the winner of the second Han Nefkens Foundation, Mori Art Museum, M+ Hong Kong and Singapore Art Museum – Moving Image Commission 2023. Created as part of the commission, I Witness is a three-channel video installation in which the grieving of those who have lost family members is recreated through physical performance, in a bodily exploration of the expression of symbolic mourning.
The artist will have an Artist Talk with exhibition curator Cho Sunhye, introduced by Mori Art Museum Director Mami Kataoka and Mr. Han Nefkens, at Opening Night on 3 December (19:00-20:30) at Auditorium, Mori Art Museum. This talk will be conducted in English, with simultaneous interpretation in Japanese. RSVP by 1 December via link here.
