The term \u201cSpectrosynthesis\u201d is a portmanteau combining the words\u00a0<em>spectrum<\/em>\u2014the phenomenon of light dispersing into the colors of the rainbow and a symbol of diversity\u2014and\u00a0<em>synthesis<\/em>, which refers to the process of bringing together both ideas and objects, much like photosynthesis.
